ABOUT JIM MOORE

When Jim Moore speaks...the Senior housing and health care industry listens.

Moore has over 40 years of industry experience and for the past 30 years the company that Moore founded - Moore Diversified Services, Inc. - has served literally thousands of national and international clients.

Moore spends most of his time in the trenches - the real world of Senior housing.  He has authored several hundred industry technical papers, trade journal articles, and a weekly business column for two major newspapers.   For the past ten years he has authored the monthly column entitled "Assisted Living/Senior Housing" for Contemporary Long Term Care Magazine - a leading industry trade periodical.

Moore's company is heavily involved in market feasibility studies, detailed financial pro forma analysis, marketing consulting and investment advisory services.  Jim has personally conducted over 1,800 major Senior housing and health care consulting engagements in over 600 markets in 47 states - experience that is unmatched in the industry today.  He has also conducted major consulting engagements in Japan, Australia, Canada, France, United Kingdom and Mexico.  He has moderated over 650 Senior consumer and business focus groups and has lived in over 40 retirement and assisted living communities.  His clients include a broad spectrum of national leaders and small organizations - with a balanced mix of both for-profit and not-for-profit clients.

As a recognized national expert, his courtroom testimony as an expert witness is frequently in demand across the U.S.  He has provided expert witness support and testimony in over 40 cases at the local, state and national levels.

The Senior Life Book Series

Moore's book entitled "Assisted Living - Pure & Simple Development and Operating Strategies" was released in late 1996 and was widely accepted by the industry. The book was designated as required assisted living certification course material for the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA). Moore's last book "Assisted Living 2000 - Practical Strategies for the Next Millennium" was released in August 1998 and became an industry bestseller. "Assisted Living 2000" was selected as a primary resource for the recently initiated "Seniors Housing and Care Enterprise" graduate course at Johns Hopkins University.

Jim’s previous book, "Assisted Living Strategies for Changing Markets" was released in May (2001). This is the long awaited complete update and significant expansion to his last book and bestseller, "Assisted Living 2000". Industry leaders call this book "a must read".

The latest installment of this series, Independent Living and CCRCs; Survival, Success & Profitability Strategies for Not-for-Profit Sponsors and For-Profit Owner/Operators, has been hailed as a vital resource for "every CEO".  Jim has compiled his many decades of experience into an accessible source of information.

Jim Moore is past president of a major industry trade association.   He is currently active in five major Senior Living and Health Care industry  trade associations and serves on the Advisory Boards of ten senior housing and health care organizations.  He is also on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of a public Senior Living company traded on the New York Stock Exchange.

Moore holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from Northeastern University in Boston and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.
