NIC National Supply Estimate of Seniors Housing & Care Properties
NIC has undertaken the most thorough effort to date to estimate the U.S. supply of congregate care, assisted living, CCRC and nursing home properties and units (beds) in these properties. This estimate is based on a comprehensive identification and verification of the existence and size of each seniors housing property in a representative sample of 102 counties in seven states (of the approximately 3,000 U.S. counties), then projects the sample results to the remaining counties and states based on the characteristics of the sample counties (such as population and economic data) found to be the best predictors of seniors housing supply.
