| Income Confirmation Study of Assisted Living Residents and the Age 75+ Population: A Follow-Up to the NIC National Survey of Assisted Living Residents
A follow-up study to NIC's National Survey of Assisted Living Residents, which found that two-thirds of assisted living residents had annual incomes of less than $25,000. This study confirms those findings and explores other research documenting additional payment sources of the age 75+ population. The results show that income alone may not be the best indicator of market demand for assisted living, and suggest that the market for such properties, as measured by income qualification, could be three times larger than previously considered.
